The Queen of Swords card represents an intellectual, rational woman. This used to be an unpopular card, often representing a "bitter" or "divorced" woman. It's true that her wisdom can often have a sharp edge, but her keen insight can be turned on herself as well as others. The Queen of Swords trusts her mind more than her emotions - but that doesn't mean she doesn't have them.
As a lifelong academic, and someone who tries to be self-aware and to not let emotions cloud my judgement, I have long felt that the Queen of Swords was "my" card. After my divorce, her meanings became even more poignant. Here are some of my favorite representations of the Queen of Swords.
